Welcome to Riverrun ADHD Coaching

You are not the problem. You are not broken. You have ADHD.

We’ll work together to build systems that support your brain, not fight against it. We’ll find what actually works for you, step by step. Whether you’re looking for practical strategies, mindset shifts, or simply someone who understands—I’m here.

And especially if you’re LGBTQ2A+, gender non-conforming, or otherwise outside the mainstream—I see you. I’ve lived it. You deserve support that affirms every part of who you are.

My name is Joan O’Sullivan and I lived with undiagnosed ADHD for 60 years.  I wondered why things that seemed easy for others felt so hard for me.  I thought I was broken, lazy, stupid.  If only I could work harder, focus more, apply myself, I would be able to do what everyone around me seemed to have no problem doing. But it wasn’t about effort.  It was about wiring. I was trying and failing to be a different person. A “normal” person. But each failure reinforced my brokenness, my incapability, my self-criticisms. I eventually learned that I could never be “normal”. And without meds and coping strategies I would never function at a comfortable level.

Now I help others do what I wish I’d been able to do much earlier.

My Coaching Philosophy

Riverrun ADHD Coaching emphasizes three tasks:

  • Accept who you are and how your brain works.
  • Affirm your strengths, your struggles, and your lived experience.
  • Adapt with tools and strategies to live in a world not made for us.

I offer one-on-one coaching for adults with ADHD, especially those who’ve come to a diagnosis later in life, or who also identify as Autistic, queer, trans, or gender non-conforming. I bring 60+ years of lived experience to our conversations—not just the hard moments, but the insight, resilience, and deep empathy that come from having been there.

This is not about fixing you. You’re not broken. This is about finding a way forward that feels true to who you are.

Let’s work together to make sense of your world, reclaim your self-worth, and move toward a life that fits you.

What coaching looks like:

  • 1:1 sessions (Zoom or phone)
  • Gentle accountability and affirming feedback
  • Personalized strategies that reflect who you are

This is not a productivity boot camp. This is a partnership. We start with what’s already working—even if you can’t see it yet.

Rates

After a free 20 minute consultation to make sure we have the right chemistry. I charge $70 for 50 minute sessions. There’s no set number of sessions, it depends on your needs.

My fees are not covered by insurance at this time.

Hours

I live in Toronto and practice over the Internet.  My hours are 11AM to 7PM Eastern Time Sunday to Thursday.   I’m happy to work with anybody anywhere who can fit into that time window.
